Car Crashes Into Warehouse in Croatia, Catches Fire; Occupants Fled Police, Witnesses Say

A car crash and subsequent fire near a warehouse in Donja Zdenčina, Croatia, left several people injured on Sunday evening. The incident occurred when two volunteer firefighters, returning from a fire, noticed smoke coming from a warehouse area while descending from the highway.

We managed to calm the fire, and later colleagues from the local DVD arrived who continued to secure the scene.

Upon approaching the scene, the firefighters discovered injured individuals. According to one of the rescuers, the occupants of the vehicle stated they were fleeing from the police when their car crashed into the warehouse and caught fire. The firefighters immediately began extinguishing the blaze and later handed over the scene to local volunteer firefighters for continued security.

When we got closer, we saw several people lying down, and through conversation, we heard they were fleeing from the police and that they crashed into the warehouse, after which the car caught fire.

Zagreb police confirmed they received a report of a vehicle that had veered off the road and caught fire. Multiple individuals sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. Police stated that more details would be available following an on-site investigation.
