Cargo Ship Declared Total Loss After Projectile Strikes Off Yemen Coast

A cargo ship has been declared a total loss after being struck by multiple unidentified projectiles off Yemen's western coast. The incident occurred approximately 40 nautical miles southeast of Mokha, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

The vessel was unmanned at the time of the attack. The damage sustained was so extensive that maritime authorities assessed the ship as a "complete constructive loss," meaning it is beyond repair. The circumstances surrounding the projectile strike, including the origin of the projectiles, are currently under investigation.

UKMTO has issued a warning to all vessels operating and transiting through the affected area. They are advised to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant. Ships have also been instructed to report any suspicious activity or security incidents immediately to the relevant maritime authorities to ensure safety in the region.
