Cartenz Peace Task Force Personnel Killed in Attack in Yahukimo

A member of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Brigpol Fredi Lukas Awes, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Dekai, Yahukimo, Papua Mountains, on Monday night. The incident occurred while the officer was on duty performing security tasks in the region.

Irjen Faizal Ramadhani, Head of Operations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force, expressed deep condolences for Awes's death, emphasizing that the perpetrators would be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. He stated that the deceased's service represented dedication and loyalty in maintaining security and protecting the community.

AKBP Andri Alam, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Cartenz Peace Operation, explained that the victim was found around 11:30 PM WIT in the Jalan Pertanian Halabok Paradiso Belakang area. An initial examination revealed stab wounds, believed to be inflicted by unknown assailants (OTK).

Currently, a joint team comprising members of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Yahukimo Resort Police, and BKO Brimob Yon B Polda Papua is conducting an investigation.
