Carthage Festival 2026: First major artists officially announced

Tunisia's prestigious Carthage International Festival is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary in the summer of 2026 with a star-studded lineup of renowned Arab and international artists.

The festival, a significant cultural event in the Mediterranean region, will kick off with a performance by Tunisian superstar Saber Rebaï. The opening night promises an emotional and modern tribute to Tunisian and Arab musical heritage, according to the festival's official channels.

Further bolstering the festival's international appeal, Algerian rai icon Cheb Khaled is scheduled to perform on July 18, 2026, at the historic Roman Theater of Carthage. He is expected to deliver a festive evening featuring his greatest hits and energetic stage presence.

Other confirmed artists include Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo, Tunisian performer Nébiha Karaouli, and composer Sami Yusuf, who will make his debut at the festival. Reports from the TAP agency also suggest the anticipated return of Syrian singer Mayada El Hennawy and Lebanese icon Majida El Roumi to the Carthage stage after years of absence.

While the full program is still being finalized, organizers have opened electronic ticket sales for several confirmed shows. A press conference scheduled for July 7 will officially unveil the complete lineup and organizational details for the highly anticipated 2026 edition.
