Caso Ronald Ojeda: Suspect Dayonis Orozco Coordinated Kidnapping Via WhatsApp Group

Authorities have identified Dayonis Orozco Castillo as a high-ranking operative within the Tren de Aragua criminal organization in Chile, linking him to the kidnapping and subsequent murder of former Venezuelan military officer Ronald Ojeda. Orozco, also implicated in the killing of Carabineros officer Emmanuel Sánchez, is considered the second-in-command of the faction known as 'Los Piratas de Aragua'.

During a court hearing, it was revealed that Orozco, who was recently extradited from Colombia, was part of a WhatsApp group used to plan and execute Ojeda's abduction. The suspect, identified by the alias 'Botija', faces charges related to criminal association. The court has ordered him to remain in preventive detention for 120 days as the investigation progresses.

While Orozco's role in coordinating the criminal enterprise is established, prosecutors are still gathering evidence to directly connect him to the murder of the ex-military Venezuelan. Metropolitan South Prosecutor Álex Cortés stated that Orozco 'forms part of the criminal structure that executes this crime,' but further details are needed to solidify the murder charges against him.
