Casper Ruud completes European team for Laver Cup alongside Carlos Alcaraz

Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud has been confirmed as the final member of the European team for the 2026 Laver Cup. The prestigious tournament, which pits Europe against the Rest of the World, is set to take place at London's O2 arena from September 25-27.

This marks Ruud's sixth appearance in the Laver Cup, having been a consistent participant since 2021. His record in the event stands at two wins and three losses. He joins a formidable European squad led by captain Yannick Noah, which also features Spanish stars Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Jódar, Germany's Alexander Zverev, Italy's Flavio Cobolli, and Czech player Jakub Mensik.

Facing the European contingent will be a Rest of the World team captained by Andre Agassi. This team includes American players Learner Tien, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, and Tommy Paul, alongside Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik and Australia's Alex de Miñaur.

Europe has historically dominated the Laver Cup, winning five of the eight editions held since its inception in 2017. The Rest of the World team secured a victory in 2025 in San Francisco. The upcoming tournament in London is expected to draw significant attention, particularly with the anticipated participation of Carlos Alcaraz, who has been recovering from a wrist injury sustained in April.
