Cat's matted coat and dental issues shock animal rescuers

Animal welfare advocates were taken aback by the distressing condition of a cat named Irina, who recently came under the care of Tartu Kassikaitse. The cat's coat was so severely matted that it had become felted against her skin, causing irritation and redness. In several areas, the fur was completely gone, suggesting Irina had been compulsively pulling it out due to discomfort.

Beyond the severe coat issues, Irina faces significant dental problems. Her mouth is in very poor condition, requiring immediate veterinary attention. The combination of these health concerns means Irina will need a series of procedures, including dental work and thorough grooming.

The estimated cost for Irina's treatment and care is at least 700 euros. However, the animal rescue organization currently has only a small three-figure sum in their bank accounts, which must also cover previous clinic bills. They are appealing to the public for support, emphasizing that any donation, no matter how small, will help cover her medical expenses and give her a chance at a comfortable life.
