CDMX Half Marathon: Metro to open earlier, offer free access to runners on Sunday

Mexico City's Metro system is enhancing its services to accommodate participants of the XIX Half Marathon scheduled for Sunday, July 12. The Sistema de Transporte Colectivo (STC) announced that four key lines, 1, 2, 3, and 9, will begin operations at 5:00 AM, two hours earlier than the usual Sunday schedule.

This measure is intended to help the thousands of athletes heading to the marathon's starting point. In a further gesture of support, the STC will offer free access to the entire Metro network for all registered runners. Participants need only present their official competitor number upon entering any station to benefit from this complimentary travel.

The rest of the Metro lines will operate on their normal schedule, starting at 7:00 AM. Additionally, the "Your Bike Travels on Metro" program will remain active, allowing cyclists to bring their bicycles aboard, provided they adhere to safety regulations and follow staff instructions. The initiative aims to streamline transportation for the large number of participants expected.
