Cecilia Roth reveals nine-stitch facial injury from domestic accident during Moria Casán series filming

Argentine actress Cecilia Roth has detailed a domestic accident she sustained while filming the Netflix series about the life of Moria Casán. Roth, who portrays Casán in the latter stages of her life, revealed that she required nine stitches after falling at her home.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours after a long day of filming. Roth explained that she had returned home exhausted and went straight to bed. Waking up hungry around 4 a.m., she went to the kitchen to heat food in the microwave. She recalled standing in front of the appliance, waiting for her food, when she fell asleep and then collapsed.

"My head fell on an apple and some copper leaves. The leaf got into my nose, between my eyes. They gave me nine stitches," Roth recounted during an interview on La Once Diez. She believes the fall happened as she dozed off while waiting for the microwave.

Despite the injury, Roth decided to keep the accident a secret from the production team and reported for work the next day as scheduled. The 70-year-old actress mentioned that no one on set was aware of what had happened. The wound presented a challenge as she needed to maintain the specific characterization for Moria's later years. She revealed that makeup was used to disguise the injury as it healed.

Details of the accident had previously surfaced indirectly. Moria Casán had mentioned on her television program that Roth had a significant fall and required medical attention. "She had an accident, she fell face-first, she got a cut on her forehead that I can't explain. She had to be stitched up, and a blow to the face is terrible," Casán had said. Another cast member, María Fernanda Callejón, also noted the challenge the injury posed for the makeup and characterization team.
