Ceremony Commanders Summoned by President Prabowo

President Prabowo Subianto personally called for the commanders who oversaw the flag-raising and lowering ceremonies on Indonesia's Independence Day to meet him at the Presidential Palace. The president conveyed his thanks and expressed pride in the successful execution of the events, noting their orderliness and solemnity.

Colonel Inf Priyo Handoyo, currently the Commander of Military District 0733/Semarang, who served as the commander of the morning flag-raising ceremony, was specifically asked to report to Prabowo immediately after the event concluded. Prabowo instructed him to gather all unit commanders for the meeting.

Similarly, Prabowo requested the presence of three commanders from the flag-lowering ceremony. This included Commander Kombes Jerrold Hendra Yosef Kumontoy, who also serves as the Police Chief of Balikpapan. Kumontoy, representing the National Police, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him to participate in the national ceremony.

Kumontoy, who hails from Tomohon in North Sulawesi, acknowledged the significant experience gained from being selected for the prestigious role. Following the ceremony, the Indonesian flag, the "Merah Putih," was handed over by the flag bearer, Neeltje Deliana Insjowi, to Prabowo, who then had it returned to the convoy for transport back to the National Monument (Monas).
