CF Montreal coach confirms Alexis Sánchez passed tests, ready for next match

CF Montreal's coach, Philippe Eullaffroy, has provided positive updates on Alexis Sánchez, confirming the Chilean striker has successfully passed his physical tests. Sánchez, who has not played for three months, "did very, very well" in his assessments, according to the coach.

Eullaffroy announced that Sánchez will participate in team training on Monday and will be part of the squad traveling to face Columbus Crew on Wednesday, August 19, for a regular season MLS match. This integration could allow Sánchez to immediately contribute to the team's competitive dynamic.

Sánchez was present at Stade Saputo for CF Montreal's 1-1 draw with DC United, observing from a suite and being introduced to fans at halftime. Midfielder Fabian Herbers expressed enthusiasm for Sánchez's arrival, highlighting his proven quality from years in Europe and his potential to provide a much-needed attacking boost.

"He's obviously a quality player, he's shown that for many years in Europe. Having him on the team is a good addition for us," Herbers stated. He believes Sánchez can help the Canadian club generate more chances and increase its scoring output, noting that the Chilean still appears fit and capable of making a decisive impact in close games.

While Eullaffroy mentioned that tactical midfield adjustments were not specifically designed around Sánchez's arrival, he affirmed that the team is better assimilating the rotations and concepts he aims to implement.
