Chang Chi-hui Takes Her Daughter on a TV Trip for the First Time, Then Jokes: “I’d Rather Nobody Bother Me”

Chang Chi-hui took her daughter A-bao on a reality travel program for the first time, beginning the trip with one clear wish: “I’d rather nobody bother me.” She handed control to her daughter and let her enjoy the experience.

The episode of TTV’s “Double Star Family Travel” brought Chang and Tsai Yi-fan together with their daughters, A-bao and Jasmine. The two girls already knew each other because A-bao attends dance classes at Tsai’s studio. Their friendship kept the journey lively as they tried pickleball, picked strawberries and made handmade chocolate.

The girls also showed sharply different temperaments. Chang described A-bao as energetic, theatrical and funny, while Jasmine appeared calmer and notably warm. When Tsai suffered a cramp during the pickleball match, Jasmine immediately checked on her. Before leaving, she had quietly prepared a water bottle for her mother. She also praised A-bao enthusiastically after a successful shot.

Tsai said Chang’s approach to parenting is to “always give positive encouragement,” adding that the girls’ behavior off camera proved the warmth was genuine. Tsai said she treats Jasmine like a friend and works through unfamiliar questions with her rather than restricting her thinking. Their relationship now includes a social-media tug of war, although Tsai said she has stopped resisting her daughter’s classmates’ opinions about the photos she posts: “After all, it’s her account. She can post whatever she wants.”

Both families gave the trip high marks, leaving with what the program described as memorable parent-child moments.
