Changhua free-range chicken and duck sale sells out quickly; each person limited to two chickens

Changhua County is set to host its popular "Poultry Festival" on September 5th at Yuanlin Sanhe Park, offering a significant discount on free-range chickens and ducks. This event is a highlight of the "2026 Changhua Livestock Carnival" series, designed to showcase the agricultural prowess of the region.

During the festival, approximately 400 free-range chickens, each weighing around 4 Taiwanese catties (approximately 2 kg), will be available for 350 New Taiwan dollars. Additionally, 600 ducks, weighing over 3 Taiwanese catties (approximately 1.5 kg), will be sold for 200 New Taiwan dollars each, with a special offer of three ducks for 500 dollars. Due to overwhelming demand and the attractive pricing, which is roughly half the market value, purchases will be limited to two chickens and three ducks per person.

Changhua County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei emphasized the county's status as a major agricultural hub, leading the nation in egg, raw milk, and goat meat production, and ranking third in pigs. Chickens and ducks constitute a significant portion of the county's livestock, accounting for 25% of the national total. The festival aims to introduce residents and tourists to Changhua's high-quality agricultural products and its agricultural strength.

The "2026 Changhua Livestock Carnival" will feature a series of themed events throughout September. Following the Poultry Festival, the "Changhua Dairy Festival" will take place on September 12th and 13th, the "Changhua Pork Festival" on September 20th, and the "Changhua Mutton Festival" on September 26th. These events collectively celebrate and promote the diverse agricultural output of Changhua County.
