The hospital recently hosted the '2026 Summer Drone Carnival,' featuring an academic forum and the inaugural 'Show Chwan Cup Drone Football Match.' These events aim to raise awareness about the diverse applications of drone technology in both medicine and sports.

Dr. Huang Bing-wen, Director of Emergency Medicine at Show Chwan Hospital, highlighted the hospital system's commitment to the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Healthy Taiwan Deep Cultivation Plan.' The focus is on establishing an 'aerial medical network' to enhance healthcare accessibility. The drone carnival demonstrated the significant potential of drones in aerial medical support, especially in overcoming transportation disruptions and difficult geographical conditions during emergencies.

Chen Ying-hsin, Director of the Show Chwan Medical Drone Center, emphasized that drones are more than just tools for flight or sports competitions. He noted their critical role in medicine, particularly in delivering emergency supplies to inaccessible areas where traditional ground transport is impossible. Chen described drones as strategic assets in emergency medicine, capable of reaching environments too perilous for conventional methods. The practical demonstrations during the carnival showcased how integrating drones into the disaster medical network can significantly improve healthcare in remote regions and during rescue operations.
