Changwon Villa Fire: 1 Dead, 2 Injured

A fire erupted in a five-story villa in Changwon early on the 5th, claiming the life of one resident and injuring two others. The blaze, which began on the second floor of the building located in Jasan-dong, Masanhappo-gu, prompted an emergency response from the Changwon Fire Department.

Firefighters responded swiftly after receiving reports of an explosion-like sound around 3:02 a.m. They managed to extinguish the fire completely by 3:30 a.m. During the operation, 18 residents who were asleep were evacuated to safety with the assistance of the fire crews.

Tragically, a woman in her 90s, who lived in the apartment where the fire originated, succumbed to her injuries. A woman in her 50s suffered severe burns and was transported to the hospital. Another neighbor also sustained injuries and received medical attention. Authorities are collaborating with the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of the fire.
