Chaos at Dino Merlin concert: Hundreds with tickets locked out of stadium

Chaos erupted outside Sarajevo's Koševo Stadium as hundreds of fans, many holding valid tickets, were unable to enter the first of three sold-out concerts by popular Bosnian singer Dino Merlin. What was anticipated as a triumphant return after more than a decade turned into a night of frustration and anger for many.

While thousands of fans inside enjoyed a spectacle of fireworks and hit songs, a significant number were left stranded outside, facing closed entrances. Reports from attendees, some of whom traveled from other cities and countries, describe scenes of disbelief escalating into open anger directed at organizers. Social media was flooded with videos showing tense situations as crowds attempted to push through security barriers, with some individuals reportedly scaling stadium walls or breaching security cordons.

The frustration culminated in chants of "Dino, thief!" echoing through the night, a stark contrast to the celebratory atmosphere intended for the music icon's homecoming. Many disappointed fans, after hours of waiting and struggling in crowds, eventually dispersed without experiencing the concert they had paid for and eagerly anticipated.

Eyewitness accounts point to serious organizational failures. A common accusation is that significantly more tickets were sold than the stadium's capacity, particularly for the coveted ground-level sections. Another theory, supported by several specific instances, involves the issue of duplicate or invalid tickets. One concertgoer reported finding other individuals occupying his assigned seat, only to discover that multiple tickets shared the same seat number but had different serial codes, despite all being purchased from authorized vendors.

In response to the situation, concert organizer Adriaticket issued a statement acknowledging that a portion of the audience with valid ground-level tickets faced difficulties accessing the venue. They cited the stadium's configuration, with only one limited-capacity entrance for the ground area, and suggested that the audience did not arrive on time and failed to follow entry instructions as contributing factors to the logistical challenges.
