OpenAI has introduced a significant new capability for its ChatGPT artificial intelligence model: "Scheduled Tasks." This feature aims to enhance user productivity by allowing the AI to perform actions and provide information at specific times or intervals.

The new functionality enables users to request ChatGPT to send reminders, handle recurring tasks, or continuously monitor specific matters. According to OpenAI, the updated system offers improved management, faster execution, and greater stability compared to previous iterations. Notifications are designed to be more practical and informative.

Key features of the "Scheduled Tasks" system include a dedicated "Scheduled" page accessible from the sidebar, providing a centralized view of all ongoing tasks. Users can pause, resume, edit, or delete tasks from this interface. The system supports both specific execution times and more flexible scheduling options, such as morning, afternoon, or evening.

Monitoring tasks can proactively search the web and check for changes in linked applications. Alerts are triggered only when noteworthy information is detected. The maximum execution frequency for scheduled tasks is once per hour. Unattended tasks may be automatically paused due to inactivity if not used for extended periods.

The "Scheduled Tasks" feature is rolling out to users of ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. This new system will replace the existing "Pulse" feature, which is set to be discontinued within 14 days. The update signifies OpenAI's ongoing efforts to make ChatGPT a more integrated and functional tool for daily use.
