Cheapest Automatic Cars in Argentina: June 2026 Market Update

The demand for automatic transmission cars is steadily rising in Argentina, a trend further amplified by the introduction of electrified vehicles like hybrids and fully electric models, which often forgo manual gearboxes. This expansion in choice comes at a time when the overall automotive market is experiencing a slowdown.

In the first five months of the year, vehicle registrations fell by 9.7% compared to the same period in 2025, with 247,187 units registered versus 273,819. In response, car manufacturers are implementing various commercial strategies. Some have increased their price lists, while others are maintaining current prices or offering specific discounts to stimulate sales and maintain market presence.

The JMEV Easy 3, a Chinese-made electric hatchback, currently leads the market as the most affordable automatic car. It offers a range of up to 330 kilometers on a single charge. Following closely is the MG 3, available in a gasoline variant with a CVT automatic transmission paired with a 1.5-liter engine producing 114 horsepower.

Other budget-friendly automatic options include the Hyundai HB20 Comfort Plus AT, featuring a 1.6-liter engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Citroën C3 offers a CVT automatic with its 1.6 VTi engine, and the Fiat Argo Drive, recently updated, comes with a 1.3-liter engine and a CVT automatic transmission. These models represent accessible entry points into automatic and electrified mobility in Argentina.
