Cheapest New Cars in Argentina for August Revealed

The JMEV Easy 3, a Chinese electric model, now holds the title of Argentina's cheapest new car for August, with a list price equivalent to $24.843 million pesos. This marks a shift from traditional gasoline-powered vehicles, as the electric car's price dropped in late July. The ranking considers base model list prices, excluding any potential discounts or special financing.

Prices for models quoted in U.S. dollars are based on the official exchange rate, meaning their positions on the list can fluctuate with currency changes. This price update comes as the Argentine auto market experienced a downturn in July, with 43,758 vehicles registered, a 7.7% decrease from June and a 30.3% drop compared to July 2025. Year-to-date registrations stand at 339,359 units, a 12.8% decrease year-on-year.

The entry-level segment has seen changes due to an expanded offering and new competitors. Five of the top ten most affordable cars are priced in dollars. The Hyundai HB20 follows the JMEV Easy 3, priced around $27.9 million pesos. Other accessible options include the Fiat Argo at $33.04 million pesos, the Suzuki Swift Hybrid, the Peugeot 208 at $33.87 million pesos, the Fiat Cronos at approximately $34.01 million pesos, and the Citroën C3 listed at $34.62 million pesos.
