Chelsea Signs Experienced Striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton

Chelsea has bolstered its attacking options by signing 35-year-old striker Danny Welbeck on a two-year deal from fellow Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. The experienced forward arrives at Stamford Bridge with a wealth of top-flight experience, having previously played for Manchester United and Arsenal.

Welbeck scored 14 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for Brighton last term. He will join manager Xabi Alonso's squad as they prepare for the upcoming season. His arrival signals Chelsea's intent to strengthen their squad after a disappointing 10th-place finish in the previous Premier League campaign.

Welbeck brings over 400 Premier League appearances to Chelsea, along with a Premier League title and two League Cups won during his time at Manchester United. He also represented England 16 times internationally. Chelsea begins their new Premier League season at Fulham on August 24.
