Cheng Tsung-Cheh drives in 3 RBIs in Red Sox Triple-A rout; Long also shines

Taiwanese baseball player Cheng Tsung-Cheh delivered a standout performance for the Boston Red Sox's Triple-A affiliate, driving in three runs in their dominant 19-0 shutout victory against the Philadelphia Phillies' Triple-A team.

Cheng, batting eighth and playing shortstop, ignited the offense in the bottom of the first inning with a bases-clearing double to right field, extending the Red Sox's lead to 5-0. Later in the game, he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing in another run. Despite the impact of a 96.1 mph fastball, Cheng remained in the game and continued to play defense.

His contributions, including the bases-loaded walk, brought his RBI total to three, matching Kristian Campbell for the team high. Cheng finished the game with one hit, one hit-by-pitch, and one walk, improving his season batting average to .248 with an .760 OPS.

In another notable performance, Taiwanese-American slugger Jonathon Long, playing for the Miami Marlins' Triple-A team, recorded three hits and two RBIs in the first game of a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves' Triple-A affiliate. Long's efforts helped his team secure an 8-4 victory. He is currently batting .285 with an .820 OPS.
