The South Korean crime drama 'Chief Detective 1958' is achieving significant international success, dominating Netflix's global rankings for non-English television shows for a second week running.

According to Netflix's official Tudum site, the SBS Friday-Saturday drama recorded 9.1 million viewing hours in the non-English TV show category, securing the top spot. The series has resonated with audiences worldwide, reaching number one in 22 countries, including markets across Asia and South America such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Qatar, Thailand, Singapore, Bolivia, and Peru. It also secured a place in the top 10 in a total of 72 countries.

Domestically, 'Chief Detective 1958' is also proving to be a major hit. The sixth episode, aired on April 11, achieved a new series high in viewership ratings, reaching 22.3% nationwide, according to Nielsen Korea. This strong performance indicates the drama's broad appeal to both international and local audiences.

The production team expressed gratitude for the viewers' enthusiastic response. They hinted at further escalating plot developments, action sequences, and emotional arcs in the upcoming episodes, promising an even more intense and unpredictable narrative as the series progresses into its latter half.
