Children’s Cycling Does Not Have to Cost Tens of Thousands

A carbon racing bike costing tens of thousands of Czech koruna, an aerodynamic jersey, cycling shoes, glasses and other equipment may be the first image that comes to mind when people think about children’s cycling.

Starting in a cycling club, however, does not have to be nearly so expensive. A child does not need a racing bike or a complete specialist kit to begin.

For a first training session, a safe bicycle, a helmet and ordinary sports clothing are often sufficient. The equipment can therefore remain practical and basic at the start, rather than becoming a major financial barrier to participation.
