Chile Tennis Federation president-elect faces serious accusations

The Chilean Tennis Federation is embroiled in controversy following serious allegations against its president-elect, Milovan Kegevic, and a newly appointed director. Kegevic faces accusations of financial misconduct, including a lawsuit for misappropriation of land, and a history of fraud complaints. Compounding these issues, four junior tennis players from the Valparaíso Region have accused Kegevic of "abandonment." According to reports, Kegevic was responsible for covering the registration fees, travel, and accommodation for these young athletes to participate in the 2024 Juegos Binacionales in Temuco. However, he allegedly failed to make the payments and did not respond to inquiries. The players reportedly covered their own expenses for the trip. Upon arrival and during the competition, they were removed from the tournament because they had not been officially registered, a responsibility that fell to Kegevic. These revelations have cast a significant shadow over the federation's leadership and raise concerns about its governance and the welfare of its young athletes.
