Chilean cyclist Carrizo finishes fifth at Junior Track Cycling Worlds

Chilean cyclist Luciano Carrizo delivered a strong performance at the Junior Track Cycling World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, securing fifth place in the individual pursuit.

Carrizo, a promising young rider and multiple Pan American champion, completed the 3,000-meter race in 3 minutes, 8.974 seconds. He was exceptionally close to advancing to the bronze medal race, missing out by mere milliseconds to Italy's Ruben Ferrari, who clocked 3 minutes, 8.705 seconds.

Despite falling just short of the podium, Carrizo's performance underscores his current international form. He is already shifting his focus to his next event.

Carrizo will return to the track on Saturday to compete in the men's omnium. In other results for the Chilean delegation, Vicente Seisdedos finished 15th in his heat of the elimination race, and Alexandra Osorio continues her participation in the women's omnium.
