Chilean player Osorio's Midtjylland to face Ajax in Conference League

Danish club Midtjylland, which includes Chilean national team player Darío Osorio, has discovered its opponents for the 2026-2027 Conference League group stage following a draw in Monaco. Ajax of Amsterdam stands out as the most notable rival for the Danish team.

Midtjylland will host the historic Dutch club Ajax in Denmark. Additionally, they are scheduled to play at home against Sint-Truidense of Belgium and Hajduk Split of Croatia. On the road, Midtjylland will travel to face Pafos of Cyprus, Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar, and Egnatia of Albania, completing their six-match schedule for this stage.

The Danish side secured its place in the group stage by convincingly winning its playoff matches. They eliminated Rijeka with an aggregate score of 6-1, including a 4-1 victory in the second leg played in Croatia, where Osorio also scored.

The draw also set up several other compelling matchups among the leading title contenders. Ajax will host Atalanta and Getafe, while also visiting Midtjylland. Brighton faces an attractive home fixture against AS Monaco and will travel to Spain to play Getafe. The Spanish club, Getafe, faces a demanding group stage, playing both Brighton at home and Ajax away.

The group stage will feature 36 teams playing six matches each, with three home and three away games against different opponents. The matches are scheduled for October 15 and 22, November 5 and 26, and December 10 and 17, 2026. UEFA will later confirm the final schedule and times. The top eight teams in the standings will advance directly to the Round of 16, while teams ranked ninth through twenty-fourth will enter a playoff round. The competition continues in February 2027, with the final set for June 2, 2027, at the Besiktas Park in Istanbul.
