Chilean traffic restrictions for Thursday, June 11: Check restricted license plates

Chile's Metropolitan Region is enforcing a reinforced vehicular restriction for Thursday, June 11, 2026, impacting circulation based on specific license plate digits and vehicle classifications. This measure aims to manage traffic and potentially air quality in the densely populated area.

For vehicles with a "green seal" (sello verde) registered before September 2011, the restriction applies to license plates ending in 4 and 5. Cars without a green seal are subject to restrictions on plates ending in 8, 9, 0, and 1. Motorcycles registered before September 2010 must also adhere to the restriction for plates ending in 4 and 5.

Furthermore, there is an absolute prohibition on circulation within the Américo Vespucio ring road for restricted vehicles. This signifies a stricter enforcement zone within the capital's core.

Infractions of the vehicular restriction will result in fines ranging from 1 to 1.5 UTM (Unidad de Fomento, a Chilean inflation-indexed unit of account). However, provisions are in place for individuals with disabilities, who can apply for an exemption online to allow for necessary travel.
