China Airlines Chairman: Advancing Fleet and Services for Operational Growth

China Airlines Chairman Hsieh-Chuan Kao has detailed the company's forward-looking strategy, emphasizing a dual focus on passenger and cargo services to boost operational performance. The airline is actively enhancing its fleet capabilities to improve efficiency and service competitiveness.

Key to this strategy is the ongoing fleet modernization. China Airlines has already received 21 of its A321neo aircraft, with the full order of 30 expected for delivery by next year. The new Boeing 787 fleet is progressively entering service, offering flexibility for both long-haul and regional routes. Looking further ahead, the airline is planning to introduce advanced aircraft such as the A350-1000, 777-9, and 777-8F. These new planes are crucial for expanding its long-haul network and strengthening its cargo operations.

In terms of passenger experience, China Airlines General Manager Chen Han-ming highlighted significant upgrades. The 787 fleet will feature new seating, high-definition entertainment systems, and onboard internet services. The A350-900 fleet is undergoing cabin refurbishment to introduce the latest customized seats and entertainment options. The premium economy class is also being optimized across all touchpoints, from airport check-in to onboard amenities and service flow.

Financially, China Airlines reported a successful 2025, its 66th year of operation. The company achieved record-high consolidated operating revenue of NT$209.139 billion and a net profit after tax of NT$14.7 billion, with earnings per share at NT$2.42. This performance was bolstered by robust passenger demand, particularly during consecutive holidays, and a strong cargo segment driven by stable demand for AI servers, semiconductors, and other high-tech products. The airline is strengthening its hub operations in Taiwan, connecting North America, Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Europe to maximize transfer traffic.
