China Begins Mass Production of Domestic DUV Lithography Equipment, Report Says

China has reportedly commenced mass production of its domestically developed immersion deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography equipment, a significant stride in its quest to lessen dependence on foreign technology. This development, primarily driven by the state-owned Shanghai AiShengNa Electronic Technology, marks a critical juncture in the nation's semiconductor manufacturing ambitions.

AiShengNa, a company with a short history of just three years and notably lacking a public online presence, is at the forefront of this initiative. The production of immersion DUV machines is particularly important as it represents a key technology for manufacturing advanced semiconductor chips, a sector where China has faced significant international restrictions.

This domestic production capability is viewed as a pivotal move to circumvent reliance on foreign suppliers, especially the Netherlands' ASML, the current global leader in lithography equipment.
