China’s new “Nostradamus” predicts five events that could wreak havoc in 2027

Jiang Xueqin has become known online as China’s “Nostradamus,” but he does not present himself as a fortune teller. The Chinese-Canadian educator and commentator says he builds his forecasts from historical interpretation, geopolitics and game theory.

In a YouTube video, Jiang outlined five linked events he believes could unfold in 2027. He said the sequence would begin with a much more intense phase of the fighting now taking place in the Middle East.

His first prediction is that the United States could launch a ground invasion of Iran, transforming the conflict from air attacks into a large-scale land operation. Jiang says the United States would then become trapped in a war lasting several years, bringing heavy economic and political costs.

The second scenario follows directly from that forecast: a return of compulsory military service. Jiang argues that sustaining a large ground operation would force the United States to expand its armed forces substantially. He also predicts that young people could broadly accept conscription because of limited job opportunities.

Jiang further predicts that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement would gain power and that the National Guard could deploy in major cities. He links that scenario to social tension, immigration problems, political polarization and an international conflict. “This is a prediction that will surprise most people, because most people are focused on what is happening abroad. They do not pay attention to what is happening at home,” he said. His fourth scenario is a U.S. economic crisis spreading around the world, driven by the enormous cost of a prolonged war.
