China to Launch World's First Fully Robot-Operated Hotel

China is preparing to launch the world's first hotel where all services will be exclusively handled by robots, eliminating human involvement in daily operations. Pudu Robotics, in collaboration with Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development, is behind this ambitious project, which is slated for an official opening in 2027 after a testing phase begins in late 2026.

The hotel will be situated on the West Artificial Island in Guangdong province, a key component of a larger infrastructure initiative. Developers envision a fully automated system where robots manage every task traditionally performed by hotel staff. This includes reception and check-in, cleaning, luggage transportation, and in-room delivery services. Unlike hotels that use robots as assistants, this establishment is designed to operate autonomously.

Specialized robots will be deployed for various functions. The FlashBot will handle food and beverage deliveries ordered via mobile apps. The PUDU T300 will transport luggage to and from guest rooms. Cleaning duties will be managed by the PUDU CC1 Pro and PUDU MT1, equipped with AI-powered dirt detection systems. These robots will operate within an integrated ecosystem, coordinated by PuduFM 1.0 AI models and the PuduAgent platform, allowing for optimized routes, environmental recognition, and real-time adaptation.

The hotel will feature 44 premium rooms, a restaurant, a fitness center, and other guest facilities. A centralized system will manage the entire operational flow, from check-in to post-check-out cleaning. This initiative is part of a broader plan to transform the West Artificial Island into a significant tourism and technology hub, showcasing China's advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence.
