Chinese automaker Lepus to launch in Austria in 2027

Lepus, a new automotive brand from China, is preparing to enter the European market, with Austria slated as its next destination. The brand is scheduled to officially launch in Austria in the first quarter of 2027.

Lepus is part of Chery Automobile, which holds the distinction of being China's largest auto exporter. This move follows Chery's previous introductions of two other brands, Omoda and Jaecoo, into the Austrian market in the preceding year. Zhu Shaodong, Chery's Europe chief, confirmed the timeline for Lepus's entry in an interview with APA.

The company is actively engaged in finding local partners within Austria to facilitate its market entry and operations. While the launch date and brand positioning are clear, specific pricing details for the Lepus vehicles remain undisclosed at this time.
