Chinese brand DFSK launches new plug-in hybrid SUV in Argentina

DFSK Argentina has introduced the E5 Plus, an evolution of its C-segment SUV, featuring a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain. This seven-seater sport utility vehicle, imported from China, is available in a single trim level at a promotional launch price of US$33,800 for 60 days.

Santiago Sporleder, commercial manager for DFSK Argentina, highlighted the E5 Plus as a confirmation of the company's strategy to introduce models with diverse technologies. He described it as a vehicle designed for large families, boasting a modern and efficient mechanical system that aligns with current market demands. Sporleder emphasized that the E5 Plus "combines the best of two worlds," merging the versatility of a seven-seater with the efficiency of plug-in hybrid technology.

The E5 Plus is designed with family travel in mind, offering ample space with its dimensions: 4.76 meters long, 1.865 meters wide, and 1.71 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.785 meters. The interior features a three-row seating configuration (2+3+2). The cargo space is 187 liters, expandable to 1432 liters when the second and third rows are folded, making it suitable for family trips.

When we launched the Glory 500 at the beginning of 2025 and entered the sport utility segment, we had anticipated that several models with different technologies would follow. This E5 Plus is a confirmation of that, as it is not only a vehicle designed for large families but also has a very modern and efficient mechanical system, which is in line with new market demands.

Externally, the E5 Plus presents a modern silhouette with fluid lines and a floating roof effect. It includes a closed front grille with a lower air intake, full LED headlights connected by a light bar, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a discreet rear spoiler. The interior is equipped with a dual-zone climate control system with rear vents, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central multimedia display, wireless phone charging, electrically adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats, eco-leather upholstery, a 13-speaker surround sound system, cruise control, a 360° camera, an electric tailgate, multiple USB ports, and front and rear parking sensors.

Safety is a priority, with the E5 Plus equipped with six airbags, ABS and EBD brakes on all four wheels, Isofix child seat anchors, hill descent assist, and electronic stability control. Advanced driver-assistance systems include blind-spot detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, door opening warning, and a fatigue sensor.
