Chow Yun-fat's mansion price slashed again amid Hong Kong market slump

Hong Kong movie star Chow Yun-fat, known for his savvy investments, is seeking to sell his luxury mansion on The Peak, a prestigious address in the city. The property, located at 48 Mount Kellett Road, has seen its asking price slashed by approximately 27% over the past year and a half, reflecting a cooling real estate market.

The mansion was initially listed in October 2022 for HK$917 million. It was later reduced to HK$813 million by late 2024, and has now been further lowered to HK$660 million. This latest price cut represents a total reduction of HK$257 million from the original asking price.

Chow purchased the property in September 2010 for HK$533 million. He subsequently undertook a complete renovation of the house. Despite the extensive upgrades, the mansion has reportedly remained vacant since its purchase and has never been rented out. It is described as being in pristine, like-new condition.

Rumors suggest that Chow is highly selective about potential buyers, with strict viewing protocols in place that go beyond typical real estate transactions. The exclusivity of the neighborhood, where neighbors rarely sell their properties, further adds to the unique nature of this listing.
