CHP Lawmaker 'Very Angry and Hurt' by Former Leader Kılıçdaroğlu, Says Ex-MP

A former lawmaker from Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has revealed significant internal dissent within the party, alleging that a current Member of Parliament is deeply upset with the party's former leader.

Mehmet Parlakyiğit, who represented Kahramanmaraş in the 22nd term of Parliament, stated that he recently spoke by phone with Ali Öztunç, the current CHP lawmaker for Kahramanmaraş. During their conversation, Öztunç reportedly expressed strong feelings of anger and hurt towards Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who led the CHP for 13 years.

"He specifically stated that he is very angry and hurt by Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who served as our party's chairman for 13 years," Parlakyiğit told reporters. He added that Öztunç specifically requested that he share these sentiments with other party colleagues.

Parlakyiğit made these remarks during a press conference announcing resignations from CHP organizations in Kahramanmaraş. The statement highlights potential rifts within the party following recent leadership challenges and electoral outcomes.
