CHP leader Özel, Istanbul deputy mayor attend Hacıbektaş Veli commemoration

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel and Istanbul Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan joined a delegation at the 63rd National and 37th International Hacıbektaş Veli Commemoration and Cultural Arts Events in Nevşehir. The event, held in Hacıbektaş district, brought together political figures and community leaders.

During the ceremony, Istanbul Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan delivered a speech characterizing Hacıbektaş as the "conscience of Anatolia." He spoke of the region's legacy of love, unity, and service to humanity, stating that its teachings guide those who choose humility over arrogance and brotherhood over division. Aslan affirmed their commitment to continuing on this path, which he described as serving humanity by serving God, and to fostering justice, equality, and solidarity.

Aslan also conveyed the greetings of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently imprisoned. He noted İmamoğlu's strong desire to be present and his continued dedication to the path of brotherhood, justice, and equality, even from within his cell. Aslan remarked that true walls exist not only in prisons but also in hearts clouded by darkness and ill intentions, underscoring İmamoğlu's resilience and commitment despite his incarceration.
