CHP members' memberships revoked without disciplinary process

Two prominent figures within Turkey's Republican People's Party (CHP), Aykut Cem Yalçınkaya and Talat Yalaz, have had their party memberships revoked. Yalçınkaya, who was removed from his post as CHP Sinop Provincial Chair, announced the decision on social media, expressing dismay that his membership was terminated before a disciplinary hearing or his defense could be presented. He vowed to "first come to power and then see you off" despite what he termed "absolute sultans and absolute nullifiers."

We have been learning incorrectly for years; you have erased our membership from the Republican People's Party even though there is an unfinished disciplinary investigation and our defense has not even been taken yet. We will first come to power with the Absolute Sultan and the Absolute Nullifiers, and then we will see you off.

Yalaz, the former CHP Eskişehir Provincial Chair, also shared a document confirming his membership deletion, cryptically stating, "The day will come, the times will turn." Both individuals had been referred for disciplinary action, with Yalçınkaya facing a demand for expulsion and Yalaz a provisional expulsion by the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration.

Yalçınkaya further commented on social media that his membership was erased "without even taking our defense." He recalled his commitment to the party, stating, "Three years ago, we set out with the idea that if the Republican People's Party changes, Turkey will change, and we succeeded." He expressed certainty that he and "6 other Provincial Chairs" like him would "die as Republicans."
