Diamond Brown initially filed a petition in May seeking sole legal and physical custody of their daughter, proposing that Chris Brown be granted only visitation rights. However, the singer has formally responded in court documents, arguing for joint custody and asserting that both parents should share the legal expenses associated with the case, a point Diamond had also included in her initial filing.

The conflict between the parents has escalated, particularly following public comments made by Diamond Brown on social media. She accused Chris Brown of interfering in her romantic relationship. In response, Chris Brown's current partner, Jada Wallace, alleged that Diamond Brown was hindering the artist's contact with their daughter.

This public disagreement has led to further confrontations, with Diamond Brown reportedly indicating a willingness to confront Jada Wallace directly. Chris Brown is also a father to Royalty Brown, 12, with ex-model Nia Guzman, and Aeko Catori Brown, born in 2019, with Ammika Harris.
