Christchurch office building evacuated after strong gas smell

A Christchurch office building was evacuated after a strong smell of gas was reported.

Fire and Emergency crews from Christchurch Central and Ilam attended the Awly office building at the corner of Durham Street and Armagh Street shortly before midday.

A gas technician was resetting the system after the smell was reported. Fire and Emergency said it could not confirm further details at that stage.
