Christopher McDonald Recalls Heartbreak Over Geena Davis's Romance with Jeff Goldblum

Actor Christopher McDonald recently reflected on a painful romantic chapter from the 1980s, recounting the devastation he felt when his then-fiancée, Geena Davis, left him for Jeff Goldblum. McDonald and Davis were engaged for about five weeks before she fell for Goldblum during the filming of their first movie together in Europe.

Davis and Goldblum met on the set of the 1985 film "Transylvania 6-5000." They married in November 1987 but divorced just three years later, in 1990. Interestingly, McDonald and Davis reconnected years later while working on the 1991 film "Thelma & Louise." During filming, Davis reportedly asked director Ridley Scott about her on-screen husband, and upon learning it was McDonald, expressed delight, saying, "I dated him." Scott replied, "Even better, perfect!"

McDonald's career continues to be active. At 70, Davis recently joined the cast of "The Boroughs: Teenage Rebellion," a series from the Duffer brothers. She plays a former music manager living in a retirement community. The show, a mix of mystery, sci-fi, and comedy, received positive reviews for its first season in May, but Netflix recently canceled it, surprising fans and the actress.
