Chung-Ang University to Train Indonesian Talent for AI-Driven Fintech

Chung-Ang University is preparing 10 students from Indonesia’s leading universities to enter the country’s growing AI-based fintech industry.

The university’s College of Virtual Convergence said it will launch the Global FinTech Talent Development Program in September 2026. The students, selected from Universitas Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung and Telkom University, will complete a year of coursework at Chung-Ang University.

The program goes beyond a short-term exchange or study visit. Chung-Ang says it is building a structured model that connects talent identification and selection with university education, practical skills, and career and employment support. Students will study AI, fintech and software, while developing digital technology, problem-solving and project-management skills demanded in industry.

The core of this program is to invite talented overseas students to Korean universities for education while connecting that education with startups and employment, helping them grow into global core talent who will lead future industries.

The training will begin before the students enter South Korea, with preparatory education in Indonesia. Once at Chung-Ang, they will receive additional practical training in fintech and information technology. The university plans to connect that education with internships and support for employment and startups, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills to actual career paths.

Wi Jeong-hyun, dean of the College of Virtual Convergence, said the program’s core goal was not only to bring talented overseas students to South Korea for education, but also to connect their studies with entrepreneurship and employment. He said the university would build a global talent-development model covering discovery, education, industry experience and career planning.

Wi said training young people who can lead Indonesia’s rapidly growing digital economy, AI and fintech sectors holds significance for both Indonesia and South Korea. Chung-Ang plans to link its education and research capabilities with Indonesian talent and expand partnerships with companies, including industry-academic cooperation, internships and projects. It also intends to extend similar talent-development programs to major universities elsewhere in Asia.
