Cibona Sensationally Defeats Zadar Away to Clinch Championship Title

Basketball club Cibona has sensationally claimed the Croatian championship title for the 2025/26 season, defeating reigning champions Zadar 82-75 in a decisive Game 5 on Zadar's home court.

The victory marks a remarkable comeback for Cibona, who overturned a 2-1 deficit in the final series. This achievement is particularly impressive given that Cibona lost the second and third games by a combined 52 points. The team, known as 'Vukovi' (Wolves), secured their third win in the series to clinch the championship.

Justin Roberson led the Zagreb-based team with 17 points, supported by Žan-Mark Šiško with 13 points and five assists, and Jan Palokaj and Renato Seradarušić each adding 11 points. Despite Vladimir Mihailović's game-high 27 points for Zadar, it was not enough to secure the win for the home team.

This championship title is Cibona's 21st in their history and their first since 2022. The team faced a formidable challenge, playing against nine thousand Zadar fans in the Krešimir Ćosić Hall, and had entered the final series as underdogs.
