CJI Surya Kant's 'Cockroach' Remark Aimed at CJP's Saurav Das, Claims Founder

Abhijeet Dipke, the national convenor of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has asserted that Chief Justice of India Surya Kant's controversial "cockroach" remark was specifically directed at CJP co-convenor Saurav Das. Dipke further characterized Das as an "OG Cockroach," implying the CJI's statement during a May court hearing was aimed at Das's journalistic work and activism.

In an interview with News24, Dipke stated, "The word cockroach was used for Saurav. He (Das) is an OG cockroach." This claim suggests a personal targeting of Das by the Chief Justice.

Das, who was present during the interview, confirmed that several individuals had informed him that the Chief Justice's remarks seemed to be aimed at him. He explained that at the time of the CJI's statement, he was working on a profile of Justice Surya Kant for a news organization. Das also mentioned filing several Right to Information (RTI) requests related to the CJI around the same period.

When asked if he believed the remark could have been directed at him, Das responded, "It is possible." He recalled that the CJI had commented on "youngsters like cockroaches, who don’t get any employment or have any place in profession. Some of them become media, some of them become social media, RTI activists and other activists and they start attacking everyone," describing them as "parasites of society." The remarks subsequently went viral, leading to Dipke's announcement of the CJP's formation the following day.
