Clash during street-vendor inspection leaves municipal officer injured

A municipal enforcement officer was injured during a confrontation with a street vendor in the coastal Güzelyalı area of Bursa’s Mudanya district.

Teams from the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality’s Municipal Police Department were carrying out an inspection on Burgaz Avenue when an argument broke out with a vendor they intended to process. The dispute escalated into a physical clash.

Officer S.T. was allegedly attacked during the incident. Emergency medical teams treated him at the scene before taking him by ambulance to Mudanya State Hospital. His condition was monitored after treatment, and he is expected to file a complaint against the other party.

Authorities also imposed an administrative fine on the street vendor. A vehicle without license plates, reportedly belonging to the vendor, was towed from the scene on security grounds. The investigation remains ongoing.
