Cleric seeks end to insecurity, urges prayers ahead 2027 elections

Archbishop Gimbright Adaigho has called on governments at all levels to intensify efforts in tackling insecurity and economic challenges, particularly with the 2027 general elections on the horizon. Speaking in Lafia, Nasarawa State, during the consecration of Ovye John Attah as the new Bishop of Threshing Floor Watchman Assembly, Adaigho stressed the need for prayers and divine intervention.

As Christians, we should continue to pray so that God Almighty can give inspiration to those occupying government positions to enable them find solutions to the issues of insecurity and economic challenges.

Adaigho, who is the General Overseer of the church, urged Christians to remain steadfast amidst the nation's current difficulties. He emphasized that Nigeria needs more intercessors than politicians at this time to guide the people through their numerous challenges. "As Christians, we should continue to pray so that God Almighty can give inspiration to those occupying government positions to enable them find solutions to the issues of insecurity and economic challenges," he stated.

The Archbishop described the newly consecrated Bishop Attah as a tested servant of God, highlighting that his elevation would further unite church members and Christians. He admonished the new bishop and other ministers to pursue holiness, unity, and evangelism to win more souls for Christ. Bishop Attah pledged to uphold the church's mandate of watching, praying, and preaching the word of God, stating his assignment is to watch over the flock and ensure the church remains a place where destinies are transformed.

The event also saw goodwill messages from other religious leaders, including Rev. Sunday Emmah, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Nasarawa State. Emmah congratulated Bishop Attah, urging him to promote peace and unity among Christians. He described the occasion as a significant milestone and a divine appointment, recognizing Attah's steadfast faith and commitment to the gospel.
