Coast Guard Investigates Container Washed Ashore in Ordu

Coast Guard teams have initiated an investigation into a white container that washed ashore on the coast of Fatsa district in Ordu, Turkey. The discovery prompted local authorities to respond and examine the object.

I saw a white object floating in the sea. When I zoomed in with my phone camera, I realized it was a container.

The container was first spotted by a local resident, Hüseyin Saraç, who noticed the white object floating in the sea from his balcony. He contacted authorities after realizing it was a container.

Saraç shared the images with a friend who works in container transport in Istanbul. His friend suggested that white containers are typically used for food or cold chain logistics and that the situation was unlikely to cause panic.

Upon closer inspection at the shoreline, Saraç observed a white sack near the container, which he believes may have contained corn and likely came from the container itself. He reiterated that he did not believe the situation warranted panic.
