College student fatally shot by police after knocking on wrong door

A 22-year-old college student was fatally shot by police over the weekend in Pennsylvania after he accidentally knocked on the wrong door of a home. Glenn Pysher, known as Bubba to friends and family, was celebrating with friends and mistakenly approached a neighbor's house, leading the homeowners to call 911 to report an attempted break-in.

So he probably was knocking, 'Hey, let me in, where are you at, what are you doing?' And the homeowners thought he was trying to break into the house and called the cops

Police arrived at the scene early Sunday morning and encountered Pysher at the back of the property. His mother, Erin Pysher, believes her son may have become disoriented due to the wooded area where the house is located. She recounted that her son was on the phone with friends around 12:32 a.m. and that police arrived and shot him by 12:35 a.m., noting the absence of any Taser use and the immediate deployment of deadly force.

At 12:32, we have the call log, he was talking on the phone with his friends. By 12:35, I believe, the cops had already shown up and shot him.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office stated that an encounter occurred, resulting in Pysher's death. The Upper Pottsgrove Police Department has not released details but confirmed an investigation is ongoing. The family has reportedly received no communication from the police department, and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau did not respond to requests for comment.

Pysher's parents, Erin and Glenwood Pysher, are seeking answers and demanding that the investigation be conducted properly. Glenwood Pysher stated, "I just want things to be done right. I want to know the facts." Erin Pysher described her son as a good kid who loved baseball and was preparing to transfer to Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey. "It's unreal. I don't even know how to explain it. It's a feeling of so much sadness in my heart. I can't, it's hard to breathe," she said, expressing the profound grief of losing her son before he could start his classes on Monday.
