Collision on Rural Road Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

One person has died and two others sustained injuries, some serious, following a multi-vehicle collision on a rural road in the Schleswig-Flensburg district. The accident occurred on the road between Sorüp and Großsolt.

According to the regional control center, a 71-year-old driver was traveling when, for reasons yet to be determined, his vehicle entered the opposing lane. He then collided head-on with a transporter driven by a 34-year-old.

The impact caused the transporter to spin 180 degrees and collide with a car being driven by a 57-year-old woman traveling behind it. The transporter subsequently went over a guardrail, rolled over multiple times, and came to rest on an adjacent cycle and pedestrian path.

The 71-year-old driver suffered severe internal injuries and died at the scene despite resuscitation efforts. The other individuals involved were taken to a hospital by ambulance. The 34-year-old transporter driver sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and is in intensive care. The 57-year-old woman suffered minor injuries and shock.
