Colombia President-elect invites Karol G to join political movement

Colombia's President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella has extended an invitation to global music star Karol G to join his political movement, known as "la manada" (the pack). The invitation came in response to an open letter the singer sent to de la Espriella following his presidential election victory.

From the campaign, I said it, it is my unwavering purpose: to govern for all Colombians, including those who did not vote for me.

In his message, de la Espriella, who leads the far-right movement Defensores de la Patria, reiterated his campaign promise to govern for all Colombians, including those who did not vote for him. He stated that he shares Karol G's call for unity in Colombia and believes the presidential figure should embody true unity "with and for the People." He also expressed that Colombians need to regain faith in their leaders.

Karol G, in her open letter, had written not as a supporter or opponent, but as a Colombian who deeply loves her country. The artist highlighted the importance of prioritizing education, security, opportunities for young people, and support for families, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
