Colón registers another homicide after car wash attack

A violent crime has struck Colón, Panama, with the murder of a 28-year-old man at a car wash. The incident occurred on the evening of Friday, July 10, in the 4 Altos sector of the Colón Province. Preliminary reports indicate the victim was working when armed individuals ambushed him, firing multiple shots.

Despite being rushed to the Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital for urgent medical attention, doctors confirmed his death shortly after arrival. The severity of his injuries proved fatal. Law enforcement, including units from the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) and the Public Ministry, were dispatched to the scene to gather evidence and commence an investigation into the perpetrators.

This tragic event adds to the escalating violence in the region. The province of Colón has now recorded 51 homicides in the year 2026, underscoring a persistent security challenge. Authorities are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend those responsible for this latest killing.
